Enough?

Loss and the simple idea of...

Last year my family and I lost a dear friend. Our dog Moli had lived an good life and losing her from our world has been hard. One of the many things Moli taught me was that joy and satisfaction comes from living according to a simple concept: look for how what you have is enough.

Moli was an example of going with the flow but never to the point of losing herself or not having boundaries. She was easy to get along with and she made the most of every situation. Her enthusiasm and joy were quite literally, contagious!

I think Moli's super power was that she believed in the concept of 'Enough'.

She was enough in herself and whatever circumstance she found herself in. Because of this, she made things work. There was never an aura of resentment around her and rarely did we see her distraught or even down. She would get angry from time to time but was quick to forgive and move on. Her attitude was that there was good in everything and everyone and that no one owed her anything.

She had enough. She was enough.

And because of this she always had something to give.

I’m grateful for the years that we knew and loved our dear girl and for the lessons she taught me by how she lived every day.

Simple. Satisfied. Enough.

And because poets say things so much better:

You are enough

For the birds to sing about

For the seeds to sprout about

For the stars to shoot about

        Do you see it yet?

        Gardens in your speech

Fields of wildflowers in your prayers

 Lighthouses in your eyes

No one else can see it for you

You have always been enough

You will always be enough

Your simple act of being is enouDo you see it yet?
